Welcome to 2013

Hey Everyone,

Welcome to 2013. The year we weren't sure was going to come (Mayan Calendar Anyone?) but at last it's here. Adios 2012, I am so glad you are gone.

Last year I made a resolution to take more control of my life instead of just letting things happen to me. I am happy to report that although I do still struggle with this I am much better at it then I was.

For this year's resolution, I have decided to reduce my procrastination. I was really bad at this last year. I have always been a really bad procrastinator. I know that there is no way I can completely eliminate this but I would really like to reduce the amount that I procrastinate, especially when it comes to school work.

This semester I will not be able to come home as often as I did last semester. Since it's really only my family and friends who read my blog, my other resolution is to blog at least once a week. I'm not sure if this will work but we'll give it a try. :)

Happy New Year Everyone! Good luck with your own new year resolutions!

Peace Out.

My Little Sister

I was only the baby of our family until I was 2 years old and my brother Sam was born. I have been an older sister ever since and ultimately ended up being the second oldest of six children.

Ben, Constance, and Aaron (driving
me crazy of course)

I love my siblings. They drive me crazy sometimes most of the time but they are my siblings and I am pretty sure annoying my siblings is written somewhere in the job description of being a good sibling.

On March 26, 2012 my younger sister, Constance, passed away and my family has shrunk in a way I never imagined it would.
Constance's senior photo.
It is amazing how your life can change in such a dramatic way but still stay so much the same. I still had classes, homework, and tests. I still have work. I still have to worry about all the little things. You would expect littler things not to bother you anymore after a loss but they do, I just sometimes wonder why I care.

Sometimes my loss doesn't seem real. Sometimes it seems like I never had a younger sister and that this weight on my heart has magically appeared. When all is said and done, I miss her and I wish she was here with me even though I know that she is in a better place.

Napping on the Couch

It's something we've all did at one point of time at another. There you are just laying on the couch watching a movie or taking a five and the next thing you know you are out.

If you don't like cats I don't reccommend you take the chance of falling asleep on my couch because you might end up like this:
Dad
Or this:
Aaron

Or even this:
Ben
The only male in my house that was spared being slept on by the cates was Sam but they're still nearby as you can see:

Procrastination

What should I being doing right now? Statistics. What am I actually doing? Well, anything but.
Here I am. Writing this post and watching Pride and Predjudice, the 5 hr BBC version.

Chiling on the couch and posting random pictures of my cats on my blog. Isn't it amazing how cats can sleep so still?
Well I suppose there is only so much random nonsense that can be posted at once.

Until next time. Adios!

The Appeal of the Rabbit Cage

This is Flopsy.
She is my brother's rabbit. On nice days she would rather be outside in the cat yard (I can't say I blame her). When she is outside her cage is left open and for some reason is a big attraction for the cats.

In it. On it. By it. They just love it.

I think it has something to do with the heat of the sun reflected off the black bottom of the cage but who knows.  They like it and that all that matters.

Goodreads

I love to read. It's something that I have loved to do since I was a little girl. Last year a good friend of mine introduced me to the social networking site for books Goodreads.

I love this site!
You can keep track of what you have read and what you want to read.

You can explore books and add them to your to-read list or your read list and rate them.

You can even measure the progress of books you are currently reading.

You  can even set a goal for number of books you want to read this year.

Its fun because you can explore books in the same genre you enjoy, explore books by your favorite authors, and discover books that you would like to read because your friends have read or are reading them. You can also join online book clubs and participate in book swaps with other members if you would like.

I've really enjoyed this site because I am able to keep track of all the books I want to read in one place instead of on scraps of paper and on bookstore websites. So if you love books as much as me I would really recommend it.
